We are 2 years into PPA development (after 2 years of parent coached-Stoddert). Hard to compare to a new program.
PPA has certain benefits, theoretically more organized with professional coaches, refs, nicer fields, consistency in game time/location and our team practices at the kids’ elementary school after school, so it’s really easy.
It had been hit or miss on the coaches (boys). Some seasons they have been fantastic, but you have zero ability to request the same coach for the next season (coaches come and go too). The 2 other seasons, the coaches were terrible. One yelled at the kids all the time (again, this is a rec league). The other seemed really checked out, but seems to be putting in more effort after parents complained.
What are you objectives and where are her friends playing?
Other PPA parent here- you should tell Adem about the coach experience. He's very receptive. We've had the same coaches for our teams every season and really liked them. One wrote up lengthy reports about DS and his development almost every week, which is more feedback than we get from he's teachers! I feel like all the PPA coaches know my kids pretty well at this point, which I like a lot.
