I think that is correct for 2019-20.

Are parents going to run the U8-U12 teams?

You should know by now if your kid got moved to ECNL, or ask your DS because the kids talk and probably know what each other are doing. My DS said on his team two are moving up to ECNL and one is moving to first team at different club.

Team placement is based on tryouts. He would need to be offered a spot on the ECNL team. He may also want to talk to the ECNL coach to discuss his goals directly.

While I cannot speak for other age groups, U17B holds a very large roster (around 24 players). Historically, the movement between Elite to ECNL is infrequent; perhaps 1 player per year. (This is primarily due to more supply versus little demand.)

One constant gripe is the Elite team does not often mix with the ECNL team. This includes practices, league play, and tournaments. Some players and parents complain it's like being on two different clubs. ECNL teams get better resources (coaches, field time, etc.)

BRYC is like being at 3 different clubs. ECNL/Elite/Lower level NCSL/ODSL. Very clear separation.

From what I hear from my neighbors who have their kids there, there's very little movement from Elite to the ECNL teams. They say it's more common for BRYC ENCL team to take kids from other clubs rather than promote from the Elite teams.

I assume the ECNL team has had tryouts, and would think your kid would have to attend the tryouts.

Is it as easy as letting the ECNL coach know you want to move?

Bad news for BRYC if so...

I'd just talk to the ECNL coach about your player moving up to play with them.
