First induction took 8 hours, second one took less than 2!

My situation was pretty much the same as yours OP, both times. First induction took 4 hours from the start of pitocin to the baby being born. Second was just over 5 hours. So slightly longer in my case.

My 2nd induction was slightly shorter from start to finish, but the actual pushing part was longer. DS2 was positioned differently. Much easier recovery, even though I got a slightly worse tear than with DS1.

My overall experience was very similar except that my first took about 19 hours after pitocin and my second took about 10. Both were full term, 2cm dilated at induction, but 2nd baby was a pound smaller rich made for an incredibly easy, single push!

Yes my 2nd induction was MUCH faster. 19 hours for my first, and about 7 hours for my 2nd.

I was also dilated about 4 cms when I went in for my 2nd. I was closed and hard for my first.

Yes, mine was about 50% faster the second time but I fully expected it to take just as long. I delivered early the second time so baby was small.

My water broke and I was given pitocin after no progression for a few hours and it worked very well, from start to finish was 7 hours uncomplicated vaginal delivery (early, so sub 6 lb baby probably helped).

I may need to be induced the second time around and am just wondering if my body will respond as well to pitocin the second time around...
