Has anyone used Sittercity.com recently?

That may be a good one to try.

Or contact a sitter agency at the hotel you will be staying at.

Good luck!

Any similar highly reputable sites people know of for Atlanta?

I’ve used a service twice. You pay $15-$30/hour depending upon the state. I’ve always called and asked a bazillion questions. Never had a problem with anyone they’ve sent.

Ask people who live in the town with kids if they have a sitter you could contact.

Contact your hotel, they may have ideas for you.

Otherwise, I’d contact an agency. Have a total number of kids, exact or flexible (end time only!) hours, list of special needs, etc. They can give you a few profiles within a week, and they will guarantee someone else if your sitter calls out.

We found a great sitter, a nanny, in Los Angeles on care.com. I wish she lived here!

I have done this for families visiting Colorado through Care.com, but that was a while ago. Care is a mess and now charges nannies as well as parents, so I no longer use their platform. An agency in the area will provide a qualified candidate, but it will cost more than you’d probably like to pay for a single event. What city are you going to? Many of us are not in the DC area.

Hello,

This summer our family is traveling to a wedding out of town and we are looking for a babysitter to watch our daughter during the ceremony. We have tried reaching out to people we know who might have connections in this city, we've asked the couple who are getting married if they have any ideas (while trying not to make it their problem), and are teaming up with another family attending the wedding and in the same situation, but no luck so far. How do others usually find childcare out of town in a situation like this?

Thanks in advance!
