In the Town All Year Round. No specific thing to find on each page, but there's a lot of detailed illustrations in each page, and each character has a specific wordless story that goes from page to page. So you can track what happens to the parrot from the beginning to the end of book, or what happens to the girl with the present....it's awesome.

Also Richard Scarry's Cars and Trucks and Things That Go has little Goldbug hidden on every page and you have to find him. There's a story in this one too.

These are great once you have reader. My 4 year old did enjoy hunting, but I had to constantly read the words to tell her what she was looking for. So with a 2 and 4 year old, I'd try the other ones first, and once your oldest can read, try these out.

My daughter loves the Momoko series of books. You can follow the characters through a little story line from page to page. They are really awesome!

Spot the cat by Henry Cole is super cute.

The Where’s the Dragon book by Jason Hook is also fun.

I like these two because they have a nice story with the search and find.

They might also like an illustrated kids encyclopedia. Or field guides, which have tons of pictures in them.

My young kids (ages 2 and 4) recently discovered my old collection of Where’s Waldo books while visiting my folks recently and were completely transfixed for hours looking at the illustrations and trying to find Waldo, the wizard, etc. Does anyone have recommendations for similar books where you have to search for specific things or just books with interesting illustrations with lots going on to look at? They also like the Richard Scarry books but I’d love to find something a bit more updated, as both series of books feel dated and illustrate outdated depictions of things like gender roles, etc.
