You do realize that many sunscreens if not all had been associated with skin cancer because of all the junk that is in them?

I’d rather have my kid out in the sun for 15 minutes than slather on the carcinogens. YMMV
Maybe send in a hat! That would be an easy solution.

The latest news that those chemicals are actually absorbed by the body was always pretty obvious to us. Everyone wonders why all the kids have so many problems these days.... just look at what we put in their little bodies.

DD is in 3rd grade and she applies it right before lunch. She either asks the teacher to go to the bathroom or she asks the lunch monitor after she has finished leaving her lunch and the rest of the cafeteria is still eating. No big deal really but I don’t want DD to get sunspots or age prematurely because she didn’t take care of her skin in her youth.

Sunscreen does NOT cause cancer. There is no evidence to support your claim. UV from the sun on the other hand does cause cancer.

There most likely wouldn’t be time to reapply sunscreen before recess. They aren’t outside that long.

There may not be a great time for it at school - some kids go to recess from specials and teachers are unlikely to want them to carry anything with them. I just put it one mine in the morning.

You are setting up your kid for being bullied. Not worth it. Recess is short and the little vitamin D never hurt anyone.

I’m thinking of sending DD with a lotion based, kid friendly sunscreen to apply before lunch and recess. Is this allowed? Do I need to notify the school nurse or teacher? DD is old enough , responsible and can read.
