Whatev. Check out the rosters of any of the top D3 schools that are very difficult to get into without a hook. Lax provides that hook for privileged, upper middle class, non-diverse kids. Getting into place like Amherst based mainly on your ability to swing a stick and throw a rock, priceless!
Are you suggesting that you need a hook if you are "non-diverse"? Or, if your parents have good-paying jobs? Those are bad things? Or, things that hurt your college admissions prospects?
