You could bring along a friend.

Isn’t the point of going to a winery to drink? My friends aren’t going to go with me to be my designated driver.

When we bring our kid and dog, it is just to be outside and maybe have a glass of wine and a picnic. We usually order a case to bring home. Sometimes, there is music, activities. You don't have to drink and get snockered.

I live in central VA and there are wineries galore. We go to MANY with our kids. But when we have a babysitter, we go to the small ones that don’t allow buses/tours, and usually are quieter without kids. A few do not allow anyone under 18.

There are tons of non family friendly wineries. Go to one of those, yeah.

and remember, you choosing to go out without your children doesn't mean the world is going to be a child free space.

Choose your venue wisely and stop bitching

Why not go to a restaurant downtown then? Few if any kids out on Saturday nights at downtown restaurants.

Wineries are usually in beautiful outdoor places. Hence the kids. Use your noodle.

It’s money. People with kids want to get out and do things. They like vineyards. If you have a vineyard that’s kid friend key, the parents make money. It’s simple.

I think this is a thing now. Yesterday we were invited to a “kid friendly distillery” - it was on their marketing material.

Whiskey and preschoolers - seems like an odd mix

Could we please get lists of wineries frequented by families with children and wineries that do no have children?

I do not want to attend a playground that serves alcohol.

Yes, if it’s nice out and they can stay outside. We like 8 chains north and sunset hills with our kids. Potomac point has a playroom inside
