Maryland School of Dance on Parklawn in White Flint is exactly that. Their technique is great. Recitals are very optional and no big deal.

That doesn't "teach to the recital"? In other words, one that just teaches dance technique, but does not spend the whole semester only preparing for a recital at the end?
