Induced at 37 weeks for IUGR. Started pitocin at 10am, baby born at 2pm without pushing! Really easy (of course he was only 5lbs so that helped!

Went in at 5pm. Started Cytotec. Second dose at 8pm. No pain. Foley bulb at midnight. Was awful. Had some pain meds overnight. Bulb out at 6am. Sweet relief! Showered, ate, hung out. Poticin started at 9am. Epidural at 2pm once highest level of pitocin reached. Felt better but still in pain from contractions. Labored for a few hours. After transition pushed for 40 minutes. Baby born at 7pm. Foley bulb was worst thing — worse than labor and delivery and after care all combined.

I’ve had three inductions at 38 weeks for high blood pressure. The first time I was 1 cm dilated so I went in at 9 and they started pitocin. They broke my water a few hours later when I was 3 cm. I got an epidural and baby was in my arms by 7 pm. Second one I was 4 cm when I got there at 9, so they did pitocin and broke my water all at once. Epidural was in 15 mins later and baby in my arms by noon. Third one similar to second. If you don’t like pain get the epidural ASAP.

I had an induction. Started with cervidil at 8pm. Then had a foley bulb in the morning- that was probably the hardest part and I had them give my tylenol during it, but it was temporary. Then pitocin at 4pm and baby was delivered at 2am. It was a long process, but good. Just take it as it goes one step at a time! you will get through it. Good luck

I had a long painful induction, but that’s what epidurals are for. Vaginal birth was my goal and everything worked out wonderfully twice.

Very similar to my story, except I got the epidural and it was lovely! Also I needed to be induced due to high blood pressure, so I'm grateful my baby got out while the getting was good.

I was overdue, too, so on the day of my induction, the doctor first broke my water to try to induce labor naturally. I didn’t dilate sufficiently over the course of 4 hours so the doctor started pitocin. Two hours later, I gave birth via vaginal delivery. No epidural.

+1 This almost exactly! I was a FTM with an induction and an epidural. 12 hours from start of pitocin to delivery. Uneventful vaginal birth.

I have general anxiety and was happy to be induced because it took so many other worries off my mind! I checked in at 8 am, had cytotec and honestly hung out for about 6 hours - read a book, watched HGTV, etc. best part of this time was getting a catheter so I no longer had to pee every 4.1 nanoseconds.

Later had more cytotec and pitocin. Got my epidural when pain reached a level I was uncomfortable with. Tried to rest as much as I could. Baby was born at 3:06 am the next day! Baby is great!

The anxiety leading up to the induction was unbearable! I feel you OP. My cervix was favorable so went to the hospital at 0630 am. Orders weren’t ready so they didn’t start pitocin til ~9. They broke my water ~noon and after 30 mins of pushing baby was out at 4.

Mine was fine! I actually appreciated the ability to plan for it. The anxiety leading up to it was the worst part. I had pitocin and delivered within 12 hours. They did have to break my water and I had an epidural about 2 hours after that. 45 minutes of pushing and baby was born! Good luck--you'll be ok!

Tuesday is sooooooooo far away from now. $1000 says you go into labor before that. Focus on making that baby come on its own:
—rock while sitting on an exercise ball
—have sex
—stimulate your nipples
—eat bananas
—eat spicy food
—long walks
—swimming
—castor oil

Remind yourself that hospitals deliver hundreds and hundreds of babies safely every day. They are pretty good at it. They have clear protocols and procedures they use repeatedly to ensure everyone is safe and healthy.

Step away from the internet. Go try some of the ideas above. They will get your mind off an induction.

Breathe. Stay calm. Picture holding your baby. It’s going to be so fabulous to finally meet him/her.
