Those are front wheel drive, just remember to stay away from rear wheel drive. 4matic fine. Another voice from the Land O Lakes.[b]

Most important thing is having all season tires with these packages that is even more important than AWD.

We had a panamera as a loaner recently and it was awesome but pretty sure it was double the OPs budget. If I could find one for $45k I’d buy it in a second.

That is true, however, I assumed it would be pre owned since you can’t even get the new 3 series at $45k.

Volvo - S60 or S90. It's roots are Swedish, and they know snow! The seats are ridiculously comfortable too. I drove the S40 for years and liked how it handled in snow - and now... the XC60 is a freaking dream (maybe the XC40, even if she doesn't want the crossover, it's small...)

Just about all Audis have all-wheel drive standard. An Audi A4 would be a good option within that budget. We're on our 5th A4 in 20 years.

I tend to stay home when the weather is terrible, but the A4 does have AWD.

Any SUV can handle some snow, but honestly unless you really need to go somewhere in the snow just stay at home and don't go out.

My A4 is the premium plus and it was 43k. so with taxes it will be about 45 or a little over. But it's a great car!

BMW 3 series with all wheel drive (X), or Audi A4. Both are smaller than her old 5-series but that budget doesn’t support a new 5-series. I personally prefer the Audi.

So I know next to nothing about cars, but I promised my mom I'd help her figure out her next car. She's been driving a 5 series BMW since 2005. It's still in relatively good condition, but it's time to upgrade. Her max budget is 45K and she wants something that could handle a bit of snow. But nothing too big. She does not want a crossover or SUV. She mostly drives in town.

Does this car exist?
