The biggest factor in deciding which option to use is to figure out what channels you watch. When I did this last year, I made a list of the most watched channels (Food Network, HGTV, Hallmark (for MIL), and then the premiums (HBO/Showtime) - plus I know we wanted DVR capability. I looked at DirectTvNow, Vue, Hulu Live, YouTubeTV, Philo, and Sling. Not all of them could be used on the Fire Stick we had so I eliminated YouTube TV. Then I looked to see if they had the channels we wanted and DVR, which immediately eliminated some of them. Then I started comparing pricing (and looking at the cheapest options for premiums (you can also add them to Hulu or Prime.) We ended up with DirectTvNow, which is fine, but they recently changed their plans so I wouldn't have chosen them now.

Here are some other threads on this topic. I'm sure you'll find some useful information in them. I've cut the cord and I have DirecTV Now, Amazon Prime, and Netflix.

You can attach a small digital tv antenna to your tv to get NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS and other channels free over the air. Less than $20. It looks like a plastic rectangle with a cord that attaches to your tv.

Yes, you just need internet service.

I also love YouTubeTV, and I love it.

And yes you use your Apple TV to stream all these services. You can try YouTube for free for 5 days or look for a two week promotion. The attached says you need 4th gen Apple TV for YouTube.

I’m thinking about cutting cable, but I’m not sure what the best replacement option is. Anyone do this and have advice?

I have Apple TV and I would like something that works with it. Hulu Live? You Tube TV? I already get Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu.

I’m not tech savvy and I have no idea how to piece it all together. Is it as easy as signing up for a new streaming service and I can watch it through my Apple TV?
