Hi! Full term pregnancies at 35 and 39, with two miscarriages in between. Many of my friends who had kids in this age range had similar experiences, including a good friend who had her first at 36, then three late 1st tri losses. She is now 41 and a week out from her due date with her 2nd baby. Sending you best wishes for a healthy pregnancy soon.

I was younger, but miscarried 3 times. Most miscarriages are because of chromosomal issues.

It did not stop me from trying again. I know have 2 healthy kids and am very happy with that.

I'm 38 now and would keep trying if I were you. But that's because I very much wanted 2 kids. If you are good with your 1, it's ok to stop.

38 is not that old at all. I had my first at 34, then started trying again at 36. I had two miscarriages in a row -- one early at 6 wks, one at 11 weeks, and I definitely thought something was wrong after the second. My OB thought it was just bad luck, not related to age or some condition. The next one stuck, and is now a healthy 5 yo boy.

M/C at 39, successful pregnancy a few months later and again at 42. It's very possible.

Miscarried #2 at 30. Difficult pregnancy, but an ultimately healthy baby 4.5 years later.

Go to Tavicare, they will run extensive panel or review what you have and then a team of MD, nutritionist will get to the bottom of things.

And I waited one full cycle post miscarriage.

I had a normal pregnancy at 30, then an ectopic at 35, then a miscarriage at 36, and then a normal pregnancy at 37. Talk with your doctor and decide how much you are willing to go through. In my case the miscarriage was not horrible news because it showed that my one remaining Fallopian tube worked, and we had thought we would not be able to have another child.

Did you wait a cycle or just tried right after the miscarriage? I’m in the same boat right now.

38 is not that old. Many women have gone in to have healthy pregnancies after suffering a miscarriage at that age. That said, it would be worthwhile to get a checkup, and pay particular attention to your thyroid numbers. You want your tsh to be under 2.5. Thyroid problems are common in your late 30’s, can cause miscarriages, and is often undiagnosed. Get your actual number, do not rely on a doctor telling you it is “normal”.

We have almost the exact same stats and I had a healthy pregnancy about 4 months after a missed miscarriage. It can happen, good luck to you OP!

I’m 38 and just had a miscarriage at 6 weeks. I don’t even know if I should bother trying again. I’m assuming the baby had some type of chromosomal abnormality since I’m old. My husband is also on the older side (43). We have one healthy baby (born when I was 36). Anyone have happy stories of having a normal pregnancy after a miscarriage?
