Can you name one club that doesn't preach development?

All clubs do preach development, However, How many take time to know child in the club? Does Arlington or Loudons TD work with their 4th or 5th teams regularly? Can you find and talk to their TDs everyday at practice fields? Look Im not saying PAC is better at all in any areas. I just think for the parent who actually gets it. Meaning their not delusional about their child becoming the next Messi. Your child will receive the attention at PAC that they may miss being lost as one of the herd at a big club.

I said it's probably a good club sure.

You can't deny this statement might mislead a parent who doesn't know much about travel, Im just letting everyone know its probably Loudoun and Arlington 5th team. Why point out they're in a higher division if not to point out one club is "better" than another?

PP is spot on about PAC. They are all about development of each and every player, Not just the top teams or few top players. Wow, the disdain.

Look, what PPs have been saying is that this is a club that doesn't just talk the talk. It will actually make your player better. At least, that has been our experience. No one is saying Arlington Blue is the end goal. I personally know several boys who moved on from PAC to Arlington Red. The point most people are trying to make is that this club knows how to train kids, take them at one level and bring them to a higher one.

Second, what I was trying to say is that, sure, the kids who start out at a pretty low level typically improve to get up to a much more competitive level. But there are also some teams at PAC who start out stronger and play the top teams in the area. Those kids don't always stay at PAC when they reach U13 (see first paragraph) but I just want to say that the club always has some very strong players and teams, especially at the younger ages.

Last, you obviously don't think much of Arlington Blue but a lot of people are pretty happy with that level of play. Heck, there are huge numbers of people paying $2000 for their kids to play at much lower levels. I think the OP and others are trying to get out the name of a lesser known club that knows how to train kids. I have friends with kids on C, D, E, F teams who complain constantly that their kids are overlooked, and not improving, and about the experience in general. Well, this is a club that might give them a much better experience.

I have posted about PAC before. We have had a great experience with the club. When we chose it we were not sure about the travel commitment for our son and it seemed like a warmer, more supportive environment than some of the neighboring clubs. To our surprise we ended up with high quality coaching, real teaching and learning on the field. We have been impressed and happy with the decision every step of the way. With less fanfare and a lot less ego (as one of the PPs said) the club really develops players.

Agree with the PP that the teams that start out at ASA Silver-Gold level end up competing with Arlington Blue and McLean White within a couple years. But we have been around long enough to have seen teams that are MUCH better than that, including some of the younger teams there now.

That would be Arlington and Loudoun's 4th or 5th teams.

Right. The PP is trying hard

so.... i would say at the youngest ages, the PAC teams are about on par with the Arlington Gold/Silver. Good days and bad days like any team as well. PAC does a better job of developing kids year over year IMO. For a start, they practice year round. Sure some kids might have spotty attendance in the winter/summer (those are more optional seasons), but there are plenty of kids who attend fairly regularly. My kid at PAC generally has a far more regular soccer practices than my kid at Arlington. At the older ages, their top team is about on par with arlington blue (team 3 or 4 depending on your angle). At all the boys ages that I saw (excluding '08 b/c this is the first season of any tiering), PAC Navy team is either in the same NCSL division as Arlington Blue or in one case the division above. Some of the change over years is player development as well as narrowing the skill range when the age group grows to two teams. Since there is such depth in Arlington to begin with - the skill range of their team is generally much more narrow than the pac teams at the younger ages.

We love pac for our son. It has been an amazing fit both for him and for our family. Agree that it is certainly not the right fit for everyone, but that's why there are different clubs in the area. Plenty of options for different players and families.

They play in the NCSL. For being a small club they have great coaches with no egos that actually work with kids.

Post 05/14/2019 14:43     Subject: Premier AC Tryouts 2019/2020

If anyone is looking to try Travel Soccer or looking for a change from one of the "big" clubs, I wanted to share that Premier AC is starting tryouts for the 2019/2020 year this week. The tryouts are on various days (the kids just basically join in an existing practice) and are low key and not stressful in the least. I highly recommend attending one of the first couple ones if possible as the club director, Sully Hamid usually talks to the parents about the club philosophy. They do ask that players attend a minimum of three tryouts.

My son has been playing for Premier AC since his U9 year and is a rising U12. It has been a great experience for our family. The club really takes the time to develop their players and invest in them. He would have been lost at a big club. He's a kid who needs to be shown something possibly more than once and they have always been patient with him learning new skills. It is also very good for our life scheduling that we always know when and where the practice is (it has been the same all three years). Carpools are also fairly easy to find as there are many Arlington, McLean & Falls Church kids that play for the club and since many age groups practice together it widens the pool of possible carpool options. The other thing to mention is that as your child continues with the club, nearly all kids are offered a spot back on the team the following year, so no stressful and anxiety-inducing try-outs. This has been particularly good for us as I am sure my son would have quit years ago over the anxiety and stress of tryouts.
