Seems to me like you get a bit more with PPA than MSI, but only for the top team. PPA's prices for SAM soccer -- not quite travel, not super competitive -- seem pretty high to me. But lots of time on the ball.

MSI's prices seem fair for 4 tournaments but a shame they only offer 2x week and no summer option. That's not enough for a serious player IMO -- though I suppose you could supplement (on your own dime and on your own schedule.) No problem with NCSL play and 4 tournaments seems like a good number, to me.

It's all super-expensive, to be honest. I wonder where all the money goes. Although I'm sure all the coaches on this forum are raking it in...!

I agree. At this price point, you should expect 3 practices per week with professional coaching staff. I hate the fact that youth soccer is getting more and more expensive, even for an average level teams.

That is high. Our team has 3x practices per week. $1600 for year.

I believe that our price is similar for DC Stoddert. The third practice per week for the A team is paid for separately (the other teams have two per week) in addition to the general price, so in our case at least, the B and C teams are not subsidizing the A team. Hard to believe that anyone would get away with that, but maybe some clubs aren’t transparent about what’s covered. Tournament fees (not hotels), three-season practices, and CCL league fees are included. I think there is also free GK training.

Potomac is about the same as MSI and only 2 practices a week for B team. I suspect A team gets an extra for the same price. They do offer lots of free supplemental training though (GK, striker, speed and agility, free play Friday).

Are tryouts now posted for MSI? I looked yesterday and didn’t see any dates or registration info.

You are right, 3x a week is the norm. Does MSI do a day of “academy” training every week? This would be in addition to the normal 2x with coach, but is a day where all teams in the age group train at the same time. Many larger clubs do this to allow players to train with others in the same age group pool.
