$20/hour, one kid, sitter is in her 20s, but I would pay the same if she were a teen.

Middle school helper during the middle of the day $12-13
High school sitter during date night $14-16
Sitter during the day $17-19
Nanny $20+

I think it depends on whether or not it’s active playtime. We pay one of the preschool teachers $16/hour. We typically leave less than an hour before bedtime, and are gone 4-5 hours. Not at all a bad rate for spending an hour with the kid and watching a movie.

That is really cheap. Our preschool teacher charged $25/hour for two kids.

I have not paid a sitter less than $20/hour I about 5 years. I do not use high school students though. I once had a 6th Trader when DH and I had to meet with a work person in our home. She asked for $12. $14 is an insult in this area.
