Picking up on this, is it customary for girls not on the ECNL roster (at ASA. Mclean, and any other clubs) to have opportunities to guest for the ECNL team at showcases, so that all interested girls have a chance to be scouted?

At Arlington there are fairly frequently players from Red who practice and play in some matches with the DA team designated as PT (part time) players. I think the jump from Red to DA at Arlington may be lesser than the jump from Red to DA at Arlington since McLean Green is CCL2 and Arlington Red is CCL1.

Don’t fall for this, Arlington doesn’t move players from Red to DA. Do not accept a Red spot thinking you will move to DA.

People like the Green team but there is a big step between them and the ECNL team. They may have practice at the same time but they don’t interact except maybe goalies.

PP, sorry misread standings. ASA 1st, McLean 2nd in 2004 CCL2 Girls

Assuming it's ASA White vs McLean Green both at CCL2 level

McLean doesn't field a CCL1 team anymore since their top team moved to ECNL and their second/Green team cannot compete at CCL1 level.

Both good teams, for what its worth ASA is top of the division in CCL 2 and Mclean is 3rd.

Definitely McLean. Better coaches, better players, and better prospects.

I wouldn’t expect a close relationship between ECNL and CCL2. That may be on paper but that functional distance is significant at u16. Maybe not at Mclean though.

What level were the offers? Anything below da/red, I would not do Arlington at that age.

Ccl2 is horrible.

DD will need to decide between same-level teams in Arlington and McLean for 2004 teams. Given her interest in moving up, McLean is attractive because it seems to have a closer relationship between its Green (CCL2) team and ECNL than Arlington does with its CCL1 and CCL2 teams and its DA team. But Arlington is attractive for a variety of reasons too. Coaches seem solid with both options, so that’s a wash.

Curious to hear thoughts on this decision.
