So how is my DD going to have enough teammates to play with as basically the only people at try-outs were GFR current players and no offense but they are not better than my current club. Several of their parents on the sideline said they didn't even want to play DA. There is no information on the GFR website or Spirit except for the same crap. How can i accept this offer when i basically know nothing and just keep being told we will have a good team. No offense but the 06 is a complete mess so how am i to think this will be any different.

It cones down to the training and your player. If your player is happy where they are, why leave? Metro United cant guarantee who shows/accepts slots.

If your player thinks they can lead a team and wants to way to prove it, this is also a reason to consider Metro United. If they aren’t ready for that type of responsibility, stay where you are.

Call George and ask some questions, instead of the FUD folks.

So is the coach they are telling you Jane Dawber or Rado Platka (sp?) from GFR or someone else? Some GFR teams are decent but none are what you would call elite across the board. I didn't think any of those GFR folks had high enough licenses, but maybe they are getting them or going to be technically called "assistants" to make that work.

There is no plan to make standard GFR coaches head coaches. This is misinformation.

And that’s why people on these threads are called trolls.

So did your DD receive an offer for 2007? Did it say WS? Not sure if they have to redo all of that with the new situation. I'd say reach out to their leadership and ask your questions on the phone?

We were offered a WS spot in their first year. We had alot of questions as there was nothing published on roster size, cost, etc. I found that Tom Torres (and I can imagine that George Hales is as responsive) was great at answering the questions that he could and telling me there were some answers he just didn't have yet. While we chose to go the ECNL route instead, I have always appreciated the great response from Tom/Spirit. Based on my experience, I would say send Tom and George an email. My guess is you will get your answers in a timely manner.

Thanks did speak with Tom and concern is new coach is current one at GFR not a current DA coach and that is my concern as the track record is not good. Waiting on other info and other clubs to get players to commit with so much up in the air I think is too much for us. My DD wants to play with some of her friends there but i think we will have to take another offer. I don't want to play for a coach they just threw in there from a club that doesn't produce great teams just seems to risky was hoping maybe some other parent had more insight. They just keep saying getting players from other clubs but won't say who.

You should call the The coaches immediately. They will tell you upfront what your child’s situation is
