If it offends you, don't go. The person who went said that there was nothing religious about the place.

I would have to think that in putting all of that on the website, they know they will turn some people off, and I'm guessing that they don't care. I personally don't care what religion they are, if I think it will be fun for my kids, I'll take them there.

I was less put off by the bio than by the mission statement:

I didn't get that. I think the owner is just passionate about what's she's doing and why's she's doing it, and it happens to be "God centered." As long as there's no preaching in the studio, I don't mind. It could have been written by a Jewish person, or Buddhist, it wouldn't phase me.

Was there this morning. The place is amazing. Really neat. No mention of God in the place. At least that I could see.

Yeah, the founder's other venture was Riotkids. Riot stands for Righteous Invasion of Truth and is a "non-profit faith based ministry" according to the website. So, there is definitely a religious aspect to the place.

I agree with the others about the religious undertones. That turned me off a bit.

I thought the exact same thing as PP. There is no obvious religious affiliation on the website, but the owner's comments certainly make it sound like it is a religious place. Guess I'll have to check it out for myself.

Looks fun. But I'm not at all a fan of the religious language on the website. If we go there, we're going to play, not to talk about God. (And if religion/God is not part of the activities or books, then why is it referenced on the website anyway?)

I just checked out their website. Looks pretty cool. As an aside, though, this is pretty weird: I was reading the staff bios and it's three women, all of whom are saying they are SAHMs. I find REALLY weird that they are clearly NOT SAHMs if they are working at the Playseum. They may be part time working moms, moms with a flexible working schedule, moms who work from home (all of which I am) but they are, in fact, working moms.

I'm always for new stuff to do indoors during the winter...hope it works out. It sounds a lot like Creativity in Georgetown, which I thought was a big bust.
