You're definitely doing something wrong, somewhere on your phone there are high res versions of the images or you have your camera settings wrong so that it is only saving low res versions.

No point in buying a camera other than an SLR. iPhone takes care of other needs, but anything in between isn't worth the money or hassle.

OP I wonder if this could help you - it sounds like the iphone resizes photos when you send them in some circumstances and there are also certain helpful settings. It looks like this shouldn't be a problem on most phones so I feel like something is off.

My Pixel 3 takes amazing pictures and video, and I'm relying on it more and more. But on special occasions, and milestones, I break out our SLR because I can control the lighting and focus a lot better.

My wife loves taking pictures of our kids, so I bought the iPhone X for her. The pictures are great but cannot compare with the pix from our new Sony A7 III mirror less camera. They are pricey, but since we keep our stuff for a long time, it is a good investment.

We mostly use the iPhone, but for planned events, i.e, birthday, park, festival, we do bring the regular camera with us.

why are you printing pictures

We bought a DSLR and it sits, unused. It is just to heavy to carry around, and I am afraid I will drop it.

I used to have a DSLR and the iPhone photos definitely don't compare. I don't take them with the intent of framing, more like one day I'll get to that stupid photobook and for now instagram. I have never had a point and shoot so I cannot talk about that, but I cannot wait to get a DSLR again.

Yes, I tried. I was trying to print 8x10 though to frame. The vendor I was using kept rejecting photo saying resolution was too low.

I ended up only printing pictures from our xmas photo shoot.

No, my dslr rarely leaves home. It’s much easier, lighter, and convenient to just bring the iPhone around. I sometimes take the camera to indoor events but that’s about it. The phone camera resolution is multiple times that of my first point and shoot camera.

Are you sure you are uploading the full size file from your iphone? iPhone pictures can actually be very high resolution.

Op here. My iPhone photos look great on Instagram. I have gotten decent at taking pics. They just aren’t high enough resolution to print photos.

I have been snapping pictures and videos of the kids for the past few years on my phone only. I recently tried to frame some pictures and none of my iPhone pictures were good enough quality to print. They are barely good enough to print a family photograph so my kid can take it to school to tape on the class wall.

Our camera is so bulky we stopped carrying it around. Think I need to invest in another smaller camera. I have 3 kids so needs to be small and light enough to put in my stroller or in a crossbody bag.

How do you take pictures?
