We have a Chevy Bolt and it is great. With tax rebates it was 24k.

you canget a ford cmax plug in energi used for under 20K

it has a 20 mile all electric range with a back up gas motor for when you exceed the battery usage.

My non plugin cmax hybrid is getting on average 43-47mpg per tank.

The Leaf Plus is but you arent going to find any of those under $30k— even with the tax credit it’ll be more like $35k.

It’s pretty much all the same except for Teslas. And there’s a Tesla adapter. I have a leaf and mostly charge at home. The charging could not be easier.

The Nissan Leaf is a great car. I need something a little larger, or I would have gotten one several years ago.

You can pick up a used C-Max Energi for well under 20K. It's a great car - range is pretty short, only about 16-20 miles. But if you have a short commute or just need something running errands around town, it's fantastic, plus it gets super great mileage otherwise.

I am also in the market. I'm not sure there are any new electric cars for under $30k so i'm curious to see responses. I really want to get the Hyundai Kona but the mid-level EV is $43k. Seems ludicrous when you think about the non-EV being low $20s.

Maybe a low-end Ioniq with the tax break would be below $30.

Re. the used market... my feeling is everything is transitioning so fast that today's cars that are plug-in hybrids or sub-200 mile range EVs won't get much in the secondary market. I could be wrong though.

We are buying a second car. The previous owners installed a charging station a few years ago, but we have never used it. We are considering a plug-in car and want to spend under $30k-ish. What should we buy? How is the used market for electric cars? Thanks!
