We've spoken to around 10 families with currently enrolled children from PK3 to 5th. We have heard only positive things, including from families who have transferred from other Hill schools. We've enrolled our child for next year. The half-dozen families we know with kids at Stuart have also been quite positive.

Similarly, I have a coworker whose child went L-T/S-H and my child of the same age went JKLM/Deal and their experiences sound very similar and they are both doing well and attending application high schools next year.

DP. Your knee-jerk, uninformed opinion about L-T versus Maury or Brent suggests you are racist. You can be a racist POC, you know. (I'm also a POC). How do you know that L-T focuses more on rote memorization and drills? There was definitely some of that about 10-12 years ago but not presently. My kids went to Watkins and are at Stuart-Hobson with kids from L-T, who appear to have had a happy, well-rounded education.

I would do it. L-T is a great school and SH is good too.

Talk to parents who send their kids to the school rather than getting advice from trolls on anonymous message boards. There are lots of very, very happy families at L-T.

OP here. Thanks for the info. TV? I’d heard about that at aftercare, but during the school day? One of my colleagues was just complaining about this at Shepherd. Is it quasi educational programming / what is the justification?

OP here. That’s a plus, for sure. Though I’m not totally sold on S-H yet, I know a few families that are happy there and who knows what things will look like in 5-6 years...

We are thinking of buying a house IB for Ludlow-Taylor. The move is mostly to get IB for a school we will be happy with so that we don't have to deal with the lottery, schlepping our kids around to different school, etc., so I'd love some confirmation that L-T could be that school. Anyone's kids attend? (We have 3 kids; oldest would start K at the school. We had a strong preference for staying on the Hill, so didn't really look at the NW schools.)
