Is this coach SB?

Actually, the teams in the current U9 and U10 are very competitive, coach is just a dick.

My son's team played their top U9 team this fall and the kids played great, but you could definitely tell the vibe was off with the parents/kids/coach.

The parents should all agree to go tryout for a nearby club and ask them to keep their team together.

Why risk it if you could do Herndon, Loudoun, etc instead? I don't want to pay $2000 for my kid to have a bad experience.

Are you even sure that guy is coaching next year? SYA has been a solid club for many years, I'd hate to see folks stay away just because of 1 coach.

I'd stay away from the U8-U10/U11(I think) boys side. The coach is not great and kids flee that club after a year because of him, he's a prick basically. My biggest regret was to have my son play for him for 2 years and i bitched about it the entire time while my son hated the sport.

Its not hard to make the lower teams in any age group with even mediocre talent. The jerk coaches the top u9 and u10 (I think) teams. If your younger son gets offered a spot on the lower u9 team, he would have a different coach.

As a club, we have no complaints. The coach that is referenced for the younger age groups is a bit of an ass. You have to have thick skin to play with that guy, but some parents defend him because they like that style. I personally think the club has lost a lot of good players because of him. Just my 2 cents.

We are with SYA U8 rec and I asked a similar question, the answers I got back was a bit disturbing about the coach for those age groups not being appropriate for that age. Take it for a grain of salt, but I'm not going to waste my time paying someone to not be a good coach. I haven't had time to track down the team to observe for myself, but will in the coming weeks. If you search the threads you may come across it.

Considering going to tryouts for my sons. Any information or insight.
