What time are you flying? A month or so ago, we took Uber from National to Ashburn right behind Dulles. It was over $80 before you add in the tolls. Granted we had to pay tolls since we weren’t going to Dulles and couldn’t take the airport lanes but this was two people and no luggage in a regular Uber at 2:30pm before any traffic. Now add in the Legion bridge traffic...

OP here. I have done the park and fly but not for that long.

I have also done Supershuttle but that's a real pain in the butt. We are always the first to be picked up and last to be dropped off because we live so far.

I tried Supershuttle as it was much cheaper than Uber. Despite receiving a "we are on our way text". They NEVER showed. They never returned my complaint call...so I just slam them as often as I can!

Please don’t do this. If you have enough money to fly your family to Asia for 22 days then you have enough money to pay for an Uber each way. Asking a friend or family member to drive to your house then drive from Germantown to Dulles and then back home...ostensibly twice? That’s a lot of traffic and time out of their lives.

I would Uber.

I live farther out than Germantown and take friends to the airport sometimes. I usually don't mind and if it's not a convenient time for me, I say no with no guilt.

It's a drop in the bucket for you. I'm also in the camp of declining with no guilt, whatsoever, if I don't want to do something but also think it's always ok to ask, ask anything. No such thing as rude to ask, just don't have a firm expectation of a, "yes".

Both Uber and Lyft have fare estimators on their websites.

I like having my car at the airport and just pay the fee to park. But you could do Uber or lyft, just make sure you get an SUV due to all your bags.

+1 Plus, it saves so much time and energy to be dropped off and picked up directly at the airport.

UberXL would probably be around $80-90 each way, Lyft probably similar.

You could also look at the airport hotels, sometimes they have long-term parking deals, you use their shuttle to get to/from the airport. The SpotHero app shows some of those- they are around $150-160 for 3 weeks.

Have you priced out an Uber SUV (I'm sure you'll need an SUV due to the luggage)

Cheaper option is to ask a friend or family members to do drop-off or pick-up. Pay them back with a nice dinner.
