This suggests 173.7 2nd graders in a year in ALL of FCPS but no one knows how many kids appealed overall. 75% minimum. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was more like 90%.

No one but AAP people know because no one know how many people appeal so there is no way to tell what % of appeals are accepted

Based on the posts so far in 2019, it seems like they might get a high volume of appeals this year...

Not everyone who gets an iq test appeals though. My friend got one for her dd but ended up not appealing last year because it was too low for admittance she thought.

I’ve heard a lot of random stats over the years. Half of AAP kids are in on appeal. This may be half of kids are parent referred.

I've also heard that 50% of appeals get in. But the number of appeals is very very low, despite what you see on this forum.

I've heard that it's about half of the appeals. Keep in mind, though, that most kids who are rejected don't appeal at all. Those who appeal generally either have a kid who ought to have been accepted first round or they have a high WISC score.

if your child didn't make it in initially, what are the chances an appeal works out?

I understand it is a case by case basis... but would be really interested to know something like "only 10% of appeals get accepted" or "50% of appeals get accepted"
