8-12 years. My car is now 11 and definitely old.

8 years is definitely old. Mine is almost 6, and I can tell a huge difference from when new.

Over 10 years or over 100k miles is like early retirement 62. If a good car, it can easily go extra 4-5 years if no major problems.

I have a 2013 BMW with 50k miles that is starting to fall apart and we are looking to replace it. That one seems old even though it's our newest car. I have a 2006 car with 100k miles and that one is definitely old.

Yes, someone who drives 25K miles a year will have an old car in 4 years. It's all about the wear and tear on the car.

Also I am old (40) and not a car person - I don’t pay attention to what car bodies are in style. The most distinctive car shape I can think of that would look old to me is the distinctive angular shape of a Saab 9000 from the late 80s and early 90s.

We have a mid 90's car running strong. That's old.

We have a 2005 that has had issues since driving off the lot.. that's old. Anything 2010 and newer is not that old. Keep cars at least 10-12 years.

The only car bodies I recognize as old are the 1980s and 1990s Volvo sedans and Subarus that I recognize from my youth. And I notice Saturns. But I couldn't tell you how a 2001 Toyota differs from a 2019.

If I'm buying or driving, anything without a backup camera is old.

I think it depends. For a range rover 3 years is old. For a Toyota is might be 15. Really it's a "when does stuff start breaking and cost a lot to fix" in my mind.

VW - Breaks immediately but ironically can be new at 6 years

This. I am not talking about antiques, not about classic cars or anything like that. Let's say it is just a car that someone in the family or someone you are talking to drops in the conversation or you are driving on a highway and see a car and you know it has been around for decade..s.

At what point you think the car is and old car? Is it

8 years
10 years
12 yaars
15 years
20 years
25 years?
30 or more?..

As in we are now in 2019, so let's say if you se a car that looks like 2005 is this car old car to you or not, considering that you know very well that this type of body stands out because nothing much like that is around anymore?
