Four hour minimum any time she works. She will never leave our home with less than $100 in her pocket. I think that is good deal.

What kind of a question is this? You think OP pays her for both Saturday and Sunday, every weekend, even if she doesn't work? That's absurd.

No, that’s guaranteeing hours. If you have a nanny and want them retain the nanny, you pay her. If OP is paying only when she needs the nanny, and the nanny is expected to remain available and flexible, I know exactly why she’s “unreliable.” Nobody has the right to on-demand childcare without paying for it, so the nanny is begging family and friends, possibly last minute if she receives last minute notice from OP.

She's using a babysitter - doubt it, probably family and all can be true but she is not reliable.

OP here. This has been going on since her third time with us. Our baby is only 7 months old. Her reasons were all her own children-related (eg her child has the flu, her babysitter didn’t show up, child activity ran long).

I was really upset last night when she canceled five minutes before she was scheduled to arrive. I think I have to forget about her.

Thanks!

You directly stated that she was a good babysitter. Someone who has consistently showed up late or not at all is not good at any job.

I meant great with the baby. And great credentials.

We had this happen when our fav babysitter got a boyfriend. Boys trumped money in her case. Sorry, it's tough when you lose someone your kids like and you can count on. I'd start looking for someone else but I'd also have a gentle conversation with her about the last minute cancellations and delays.

She’s at three strikes. At this point it’s a pattern and not a one off. I would try to find someone’s else.

I wouldn't deal with an unreliable baby sitter.
