25 days for all employees, regardless of level. Combined sick/vacation.

Spouse 5 days for all employees regardless of level, but mirrors public school calendar closely so off during summers.

About 32 a year (we earn x hours of PTO per paycheck). Some get a lite more, some a little less depending on length employed. We max out at 400 hours but have the chance to cash out a certain amount of hours twice a year.

31 days. A bit random, but I’m not complaining.

I’ve been with my company for 15 yrs. I get 6 weeks of PTO, 1 week of volunteer time, and 3 float days. We’re also closed the last week of the year and 5 national holidays.

In house legal. 28 days plus 10 holidays and 13 sick that can be used for family care and medical appointments. If you start as a supervisor you get this amount right from the beginning. If not, it’s only 14 va action until year 3 when it jumps to 22 vacation.

Just do camps for spring and winter breaks if you don’t want to use vacation for it. It only matters until middle school because at that point they can stay home alone when you work. As a PP said, you have to stay put to get higher amounts of vacation.

Small non profit. Two designated vacation weeks when the whole office is closed + 20 days PTO. Use it or lose it every year. It's a little ridiculous. There is no way I could take all my time and do my job, and I'm the primary fundraiser so if I don't do my job none of us have a job. It is nice to know that if I had a personal or family emergency I could take a bunch of time, but it ends up being insurance I never use.

Been there 3 years, get 3 weeks PTO (and have from the start). It will increase at 5 and ten 10 years I think. I also work a lot of "overtime" and get to take comp time without using my PTO.

Fed with more than 15 years, so I get 26 days +13 sick days.

Feds start at 13 days for the first 3 years, then it bumps to 20 days until 15 years. Plus 13 days of sick leave for everyone.

24 years. Started at 10 vacation days + 10 sick days, have 35 PTO days now. Staying put helps.

I am an attorney who has always worked for smaller, private practices. Every job I’ve had the past 14 years has offered me 10 days of paid vacation to start, with an extra 5 days after working at the firm 3 years or more. We have moved quite a bit for DH’s job, so I haven’t worked at any firm more than 4 years to really build up vacation time.

We just moved back to the area and I am finding, again, that employers are only offering me 10 days of vacation time to start. I have 3 kids, and 10 days of offered vacation makes it not even seem worth going back to work at all after I count in Spring Break, summer, and the number of sick days we encounter. I have been unable to find work with the feds either, so I’m feeling frustrated. My DH has routinely received 6 weeks of vacay at every job he’s ever started in (tech industry).

How long have you been with your employer, how much vacation time did you get starting out, and how much vacation time do you have now?
