Ha. If I said this to my nearly 3yr old he would scream MORE to get to go outside. That kid is never happier than outside on his bike or running around.

And if they disobey, what is consequence?

Not PP. but we deal with this every.single.day. 1st it is to time out. 2nd it is to their room. sometimes if they are screaming i just pick them up, thrown them in the back yard (fenced) and tell them to run around for X # of laps to get the crazies out.

I guess I would 1-2-3 magic him into timeout. I've never had to do that though - he just complies. But I'm sure the dynamic is different with more than 1.

“No screaming.” If they continue, they go to time out. They can have fun without screaming.

Every once in a while my boys (4 & 1) just start screaming. Not even at each other. It's like they're just trying to out scream each other or something. I hate it because it's just awful to listen to, but I would rather not punish them because I feel like the intent isn't to harm.

What are your rules around screaming?
