The model names are only useful for comparing within the same brand, for example:

mid-size luxury SUV = X5, Q7, GLE, RX

compact luxury SUV = X3, Q5, GLC, NX

In other words, all our cars go in for service at about the same intervals, and get the same work done, but the cost of service is a few hundred dollars higher on our Audi.

It's a much better driving experience, and I like the ergonomics and technology too.. but that's a matter of preferences.

Your issue will be that in this area, they have very few base-level Q5's (Premium trim). Most are Premium Plus or Prestige, due to the market demand here. However, there are over 500 new Q5s in the DC area, so they have a glut of inventory. Audi Bethesda has 107 (!) in inventory. Try there -- they may be desperate.

Here's a way to search all Audis in the DC area:

Same experience with our Cayenne (Porsche service is often connected to an Audi service center). The basic oil change/service is around $600, compared to $100 on our CRV. But it only goes in once a year and we haven't had any unusual problems with it and it's up to nearly 100k miles.

I don't get this at all. Why not just get a loaded CRV?

Consumer Reports has a service where you can see the lowest price paid for a vehicle in your area in the past year. The fee is less than $100, maybe as low as $50, and worth it if you’re shopping for a new vehicle.

Insurance and maintenance will be sky-high even if the base price is relatively low.

I drive an A4. Registration and insurance doubled compared to the Camry I sold for this, even though the car values are not that different. A simple oil change is over $100, any real maintenance is $$$$. Even if you can work on it yourself, parts are expensive.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my car. But I wouldn’t recommend Audi if $5K makes a difference in your budget. You’ll spend it the first year anyway.

As little loaded as possible, just a basic team, how much do you think it would be? To call it best deal ever, but realistic.
