Mine is planning a sleepover and has picked a few crafts to do (including an earring project she found on Pinterest, and dipping stuff in chocolate like they sell at fancy candy stores), plus a movie and some video games.

Ice skating, Sandy Springs Adventure Park, Rock Climbing gym, trapeze....obviously I have active girls.

I remember taking my MS DD and a few friends to do some painting. They each got to paint an oil painting to take home (cool party favor). Ceramics are good, too.

Camping in the backyard...grill, S’mores, ghost stories, fishing in a toddler pool

Fondue. Origami paper and directions. It’s probably hard to do, but if you have some stuff out for them to pick up, there might be less phones on and more actual interaction. Cooking is definitely a good idea. Put out the pots and pans etc ahead of time and prep ahead whatever is needed and then let them alone, while walking by with piles of laundry or whatever at regular intervals. They may not notice that you’re carrying the same pile of laundry back and forth!

Honestly, by middle school, we didn’t plan anything beyond a nice cake. She had some friends spend the night and we ordered pizza. Beyond that, we just stayed out of their way.
