45K, one kid.

He's not quite in middle school, so I hope we can get our s--t together before college comes knocking. But we don't make much money.

145K one kid. Hoping to get to at least 200K and have much/most of undergrad paid for.
We started early, but our circumstances are changed, so may not meet that 200K.

As a point of reference for you:

My DD is OOS, at a state school. She is finishing up her sophomore year. We started out with $80K, she has $14K left in her 529. As you can see, not nearly enough to get her through even one more semester.

We're projecting about $60k per child or slightly more. We've already starting talking to them about college choices, good in-state options for undergrad, saving the loans for grad school, and how to work toward supplementing with scholarships. We have no intention of paying for everything but we want their share to be very manageable.

$100,000. DS already knows that if he wants go to an out-of-state school, it will cost him a lot more. Right now if he were to go to say, UVA, he'd be covered.

$25,000 per child.

$110,000. We've saved aggressively for it by foregoing some other luxuries we would have otherwise purchased. I know it's more than some but we are still worried it won't cover 4 years of college (even in state). I feel very strongly about not saddling DC with undergraduate loans so we will make up the difference somehow.

Same here. I lose sleep over it. But this is all I could manage so far as a single mom. I make enough salary that I won't qualify for aid in state. But our expenses are high enough that it has been hard to save more for college. I am trying to save more now, but the early years there was no money to spare.

$160,000, sixth grader. I just checked, and my kid's current favored destination costs $75,000, all in, per year. So I guess we're behind as well.
