You never really know where your DC stands relative to other players as far as skills, talent and athleticism. Hence, it’s best to attend a tryout to truly compare your DC with other players. Only thing that sucks is that they require a $25 fee to attend.

Meant U11 white or black. Are there lower teams than those?

Also are the lowest teams worth it at BSC? I don't mean the ones in the middle but the bottom teams.

Attend both if possible. Coaches are twiddling their thumbs sometimes and might miss you so you want to get as many looks as possible.

I'd say 80-85% of the team is selected from the play of the previous season.

Another 10% or so are identified in the ID sessions.

The final 5% comes from the tryouts.

Basically, by the time they have tryouts, they have the majority of the team selected. The tryout is 'just in case' they missed someone during the season and the ID sessions.

It gives you the chance to see the coach and players in action outside of the tryout circus. Coaches have the benefit of seeing how your DC performs with the team and can better evaluate and make a decision. If DC is a fit, the coach will invite you back to other practices and give you an idea of your DC's chances prior to tryouts.

These early looks are for girls not currently at BSC. PP is correct that it is effectively a tryout, even though the official tryout for both girls in the club, and those outside the club, are later in May.

Primary benefit of going to the early look is that your daughter will be more closely viewed by coaches than at the larger tryout.
