Sports are for spectators, mainly --and no one wants to watch a super lopsided game. It's not fun to play or watch. So what would be the point.

Only equitable solution is to eliminate any segregation by genders (or lack of) in soccer.

I think that the traditional ways do a pretty good job. US Soccer is trying out this bio-banding concept to try to improve it. Skill is easy to match; size, speed, and strength are not. But the bottom line is that after the age of 14 or 15, the genders need to be separated.

For some people, sure. But for others, it's about winning. So to that point, why not? If biological men can compete in women's sports, why not just eliminate the distinction altogether? Same with age restrictions. Some 17 year olds are athletically on par with 12 year olds.

Seriously, why not?

somehow I knew that this thread was about transgender people.

to answer OP - no kids should play based on biological sex. the physical differences are almost always in favor of biological boys.

Women would never go for it. There was a long thread on transgenders being allowed to compete in sports. The consensus was it is unfair to women to allow a former man to compete against women. So no.

Let the best play with the best and so on down, regardless of sex or age. There would have to be some large range age bucketing to prevent injuries (i.e. no 5 year olds playing with teenagers), but outside of that get rid of the artificial barriers and classifications based on a random calendar year cutoff or a person’s gender. Let’s all compete equally. Discuss.
