Subject: After setting up new phone, responses to my texts are now showing up on my child's phone
Check to see if you don't have multiple phone numbers if spouse or son's contact. I message will send messages to all the numbers at once.

OP here. I googled around and finally figured it out. I turned off iMessage on all of our phones (we share an Apple ID ) and issue is resolved. Phew!

We had this happen to us. Son’s phone texts appeared on DH’s phone. What an eye opener.

I just replaced my son's phone with a new one after his old iphone 5 shorted out. New phone arrived and I set it up - same phone number as the last one. The issues is that whenever I text someone, their responses are coming both to my phone and to my son's phone. Same thing when someone send's him a text. I know it is likely related to sharing an apple ID, but we had this same set up with his old phone and this wasn't an issue. I've looked through settings, made some changes and still can't fix it. Any ideas?
