Several. Myself included. I don't know anyone with 2 that wished they had 1. I know a couple with 3 or 4 who wished the stopped earlier.

Yes I know tons of people who were one and done.

I know several. Usually older couples who went from wanting no children to wanting one.

I wonder the same about childless couples but obviously no one can ask.

No, and that includes my mother and several of my friends.

I’m pretty sure yes. But I never asked if they had secondary infertility. Based on personalities or other info though, I assume they were one and done.

I am 44 and have one daughter because that’s all we wanted. She’s 13 and we are a happy family of three.

Yes.

I don't know many people with just one kid, but I specifically remember a mom with a daughter in my son's gymnastics class (this was a LONG time ago. My son is 19 now, and he was probably 4 or 5 at the time of the class.) I had 3 boys at the time (I ended up having another boy!) and I remember her smirking and then saying "I have just one daughter, which is exactly what I wanted."

So, good for her!

Everyone I know with one kid had secondary fertility issues. A lot of people I know with two kids of course don’t regret the second but are getting their ass kicked and have admitted to feeling like they “should” have more then one as opposed to “want”. When I think about a family with one kid there are so many perks, I wonder why more people don’t make this choice. Do you know many families with an only on purpose? What’s their dynamic like? why do you think more people don’t make this choice?
