I’m not having another kid just to “give DD A sibling”. She’ll get a fish, then a puppy when the times are right.

Oh an no, DH doesn’t feel sad that she’s a girl. Admittedly, he wasn’t sure what to do with her at first. But now, he has his second hand zombie hunter and dance partner all in one adorable package. I’ve been replaced and couldn’t be more enchanted by my little “AP”.

Yep. I have a boy and am about to have a girl. I think roughly every other day someone announces "So you are done, now, right?" If I don't feel like talking I say "yep!" or if I'm feeling more conversational I'll say, "Oh, I don't know. I just take it one kid at a time." It's annoying, but I know people are just trying to make conversation.

Father of 3 girls here. 2 are identies. Occasionally asked if I wished I had a son.
I say "Likely the next 'one' would be a litter of 3 more girls, and I'm already getting gray. I'm done."

My first and second were a girl and a boy, and when I was visibly pregnant with our third, I got a lot of, but why, you already have one of each? People say dumb stuff all the time.

Same. Love when they do it in front of my boys, who are now 5 and 8 and can totally understand it.

I know people think they're just making conversation, but it

Mom of 2 boys and I get asked all the time if I’m going to go for another so I can have a girl. I don’t get it. I’ve never expressed anything less than being thrilled with my two little boys. And even if we went for a third it could be another boy (which I would be happy with)!

I think a lot of the signaling subconsciously comes from you. Just act thrilled that you are having another girl and no one will ask this! I had two girls (and wanted two girls) and I don't think anyone ever asked me if I was going to try for a boy, and if they did, it didn't bother me. In fact, if I had a third, I'd sincerely hope SHE was a girl too.
