Second this. I got many while breastfeeding and I think it had to do with dehydration. They stopped after I weaned.

I got a few uti’s first pregnancy and took antibiotics once. Second pregnancy I got them and they just kept coming back so I took an antibiotic basically from 16 weeks-39 weeks. Baby healthy 1.5 year old now.

I used to get recurring UTI's. Good suggestions already given on d-mannose and peeing after sex. I will also add to start using unscented/free and clear soap, laundry detergent, tampons, dryer sheets, anything that touches that area.

I used to get multiple UTIs. I was told I needed to take a daily antibiotic to prevent them from my CNM. I was like, no way, that is insane. She told me there as no way I could avoid it, so I found a new midwife and she recommended the supplement d-mannose. It’s a simple sugar occurring in plants, and it helps to draw out bacteria from the urethra. The Amazon reviews for it seemed too good to be true but I thought, it’s bette than an antibiotic every day for the rest of my life (awful idea) so I’ll give it a try. I took it daily, and went from 3 UTIs a year to none. Using d-mannose and showering before and after sex and peeing right before and after sex has helped me to successfully avoid UTIs for the last decade. I have only had two in the last 10 years since starting the supplement, and I only take it after I have sex, and more doses if I feel a UTI coming on. I would recommend it to anyone. It seriously changed my life.

If you don't need a referral, I'd see a specialist. Or if your doc won't give you a referral, get a second OB opinion. This is excessive. My mom had recurrent UTIs and she ultimately had to have a procedure to stretch her urethra (I know, OMGGGGGG.....) but for her it was anatomical and while awful the procedure helped a ton. You should have a specialist thoroughly check things out to see if there is something else they can do for you. Good luck.

I almost delivered my first baby at 26 weeks because a UTI sent me into labor. Fortunately they were able to stop it but I spent the rest of that pregnancy on and off antiobiotics and on a medicine to stop labor. For my second pregnancy I was on a low dose antibiotic for the entire pregnancy; it was a much easier pregnancy. I wasn’t breastfeeding at the time so that complicates things for you but for the health of your unborn baby, ask about a low dose antibiotic for the remainder of your pregnancy. Good luck!

Pee before sex too. Bathe if you can. Drink cranberry juice constantly. Do you have any tissue damage that should be repaired? Ie cystocele.

Try D mannose supplement. Changed my life. Read the amazon reviews.

Ever since I gave birth to my oldest daughter 6 years ago, I've had recurrent UTI's. I don't get them enough to see a specialist according not my doctor but they are the most irritating and sometimes painful thing to deal with.

I'm 13 weeks now and breastfeeding. Every time that I'm on antibiotics, my breastfed child gets a runny nose and mucousy cough. I've been on antibiotics twice this pregnancy so far and my doctor just called and told me that my urine showed another UTI. I have zero symptoms this time and would have never known. I've been taking cranberry pills and I thought they ended this suffering but apparently they just keep the symptoms at bay while you have an infection.

I personally after sex.
I wipe front to back.
I'm very clean.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Anyone else going through this? Any advice? I'm so done with these.
