I like equinox, it is less than $200, maybe $180. As long as I make it there every workday it is worth it, < $10 per visit. It is nice and price keeps a lot of annoying people away.

Ditto. I feel like my membership is a splurge and I’m always surprised so see so many young people there.

I love my Lifetime. There’s lots of things for the family to do. I’m married and a SAHM with toddlers. Some of my friends go to the YMCA but it’s older, not as nice and doesn’t have the perks like offering towels that Lifetime does. Hauling towels with pool stuff is a pain. The family membership is worth it for the little escape I receive in a nice environment while working out.

A person whose job pays for it as a perk.

I've been a member of Equinox for years. I'm not rich by any means, but it's a gym that I enjoy going to and do go 6-7 days a week. I swim, lift, do cardio, take fitness classes and yoga classes. Most of the boutique places are charging around $20 a class anyway so it really seems like a pretty good deal.

Well Equinox is amazing so.

The only reason I’m not a member is the location isn’t good but the steam room alone is worth the cost.

Lol. I'm a Reston Lifetime member. I'm 42, not skinny and not rich.

Op here, we are in the Boston area but they are nationwide, Here is the one in Reston but there are others in Nova.

I love lifetime. It’s more like a rec club for families then just a gym.

My parents have been Equinox members for years. They live in Manhattan and are wealthy. They go to the same gym as John Slattery and Susan Sarandon.

No, I hate gyms, as well as paying for them. I walk the dog, do some home yoga, and occasionally go rock-climbing.

They are building these gyms in my area. 140,000 square feet of space with basketball courts, workout areas, pools, locker rooms, etc. the membership cost is $179 per month which includes a lot of exercise classes. I am Wondering what type of person would join a place like this? I am envisioning all young people in their 20s, skinny, and rich. What do you think? And would you join a place like this?
