It could be worse. You could have a lard ass fart in your face while doing downward dog

This is funny to me because my yoga instructor cues and encourages the “Darth Vader” breathing. I wouldn’t have given this two thoughts.

I hate people who do this. Save your special breathing for your home yoga.

As a studio owner and instructor, when I get a Darth Vader breather I instruct them to breathe like a normal person...no need to force the breathing...and I dont leave them alone until they stop. It's obnoxious and disruptive to concentration of others

I always end up next to the loud breathing lady in barre class and worry that the class is going to think it’s me.

Other people can be so obnoxious. There's a woman at my orangetheory who constantly uses my floor space (everyone is assigned an area, she comes over and gets in mine, wherever I am that day). I'm going to talk to the instructor. So should you. Instructors are busy instructing and trying to please the clientele so they don't always key in on this kind of stuff.

You have to be conscientious of others in classes. Do your loud breathing in your own private practice.

+1

That and the O face. You look stupid.

I agree it's terrible but there really isn't anything you can do. Well what I did is just stopped going to group fitness classes. There was always one or two Darth Vader breathing is not just couldn't tolerate it. So I work out at home now

You are free to go to another class.

I'd see if it bothers the instructor. If it doesn't, find a new class.

Isn’t exercise supposed to release endorphins? Leave the poor lady alone.

I attend a pilates class (reformer) a few times a week. There is a woman who attends at times who is a very loud and obnoxious breather. I do understand that proper breathing is important when doing pilates, however, this women has taken it to a ridiculous level. You can hear her breathing all the way on the other side of the room and possibly outside the room as well. She makes this funny long hissing sound -- like a TSSSSSSSSSSSSS for each and every breath. The interesting thing is that she breathes like this during the easier part of the class, but when the exercises become more challenging and heaver breathing is necessary, you can't even hear a sound from her. It is so very annoying and even the instructor is aware that clients are unhappy...trying to get equipment as far away as possible from her. There isn't much we can do about it, but so tempted to ask her to tone it down.
