Hahahaha...I already did, that is buy too much. DD will be 6. I have a dozen or more of each including dresses and skirts and capris. Each. I hate myself.

Aww, you will do better for fall/winter.

Do a few shorts and then 1-2 skorts. Does your DD wear dresses? If so, 2-3 easy dresses with two pairs of cartwheel shorts.

One pair of sandals, one flip flops or really casual teva type sandals.

Does she really need a ton of shirts right now? we always have a good complement of camp/sports shirts that seem to get worn more than anything I pay money for! I'd do 3-4 tshirts and one tank top, then fill in with the extras or buy more later.

Does she have a cardigan or pullover to wear into restaurants?

Add a few swimsuits and a beach cover up and you're done!

Do you have to buy everything in one shot? Why not start with a few pieces and add items as needed?

If you only want to do laundry once a week (my preference) I would get 7 pairs of shorts, 10 tops, 4 dresses or nicer outfits, then a pair of crocs for pool, keen and sneakers for camp/park, and 2 sandals.

Go to Unique. You can get all those things for couple of bucks a piece. Shoes buy new ofcourse.
You'll get a 20% off coupon if you donate a bag or 2.
Plenty of stuff there still have tags on.

Ahh okay just saw she's 7. My recommendation was for my 3 year old who can't wear the same shorts even 2 days in a row because she's playing in the mulch and sliding down slides.

The shorts are where I always overbuy! Last year I want to say I bought like 15 pair! No idea why. I thought she’d get messy. But I have a washing machine! I’m thinking maybe 5?

Depends on what she's doing. My kid is going to outdoor camp, so I'm buying at least five pairs of shorts and a dozen tees, plus 4-5 skorts and 4-5 dresses for non-camp days. Plus one pair of sandals, one pair of Keen-type sandals, and a pair of sneakers. Otherwise, I'd say you want to have at least a week's worth of clothes on hand.

My DD is still at the age where summer clothes don’t last more than one season. In the past, I’ve been prone to buying too much, and I’ve vowed to do it differently this year. How much of the following do you think we NEED for summer:

Shorts
Tank tops
Short-sleeved shirts
Sandals
