Aw, this is sweet, you guys. Slim chance I suppose, but I hope my 7yo still wants one of us to tuck her in when she's twice her current age.

My DD is 16 and still holds my hand when we're walking places, and yes still wants me to tuck her in.

My 16 yo daughter still requests a tuck in from me (mom) every night and I'm happy to oblige. We lay there for a few minutes and laugh about things. I love her and the fact that she still wants me to tuck her in. Not embarrassed by that in the least.

Haha sounds like my 13 year old son. He always wants an extra hug too.

My ten year old still wants to be tucked in every night, and I expect this will be true when he's 14 (and 17) as well. It's very sweet and pretty annoying at the same time. We have a ritual that ends with him asking each of us to tell him 3 things to dream about. For a parent with zero creativity, it's awfully hard come up with 3 things every day for years on end. DH will go with something lame like Red, White, and Blue, but I feel obligated to come up with something that might actually lead to interesting dreams. My favorite nights are the ones where he falls asleep while DH tucks him in (I'm always second) or where I somehow get some inspiration to make at least one of the three things truly diverting for him.

Awww... This reminded me of my dad who I lost two years ago, This is exactly what he used to do. We do the same with our kids now. My siblings and I have grown up to be self-sufficient adults too and our parenting style is very much that of our parents.

It is very sweet. You must be a very loving and demonstrative family. In my family we always hug and kiss our family members before retiring for the night. We started doing that when they were babies and then it just continued even when they grew up because it is such a warm and loving feeling.

Tell me about it. I miss my DS today it’s he’s birthday. He’s 23 today, he joined the armed forces and is living in Texas right now

Is this weird? My DS/DD twins are going to be starting high school in the fall. They still both ask to be tucked in to bed at night. I feel like at this age I was barely even saying goodnight to my parents, let alone asking them to stop whatever they were doing, walk to my room and tuck me in. Am I nuts?
