It depends. Many people in DC are so important that they are allowed to make a left during rush hour. Like the president, vice president, and assistant to the deputy undersecretary's administrative assistant or whatever your actual job is.

I got one of these in NY years ago and there were no points for it. The reasoning IIRC was that it was a traffic flow issue and not a safety issue like speeding or running a stop sign.

No. And I think if you're worried about this, you've never had points before so should have some type of forgiveness in place.

I got a $25 ticket today for making a left turn that was not legal during rush hour. Will points be assessed for this moving violation if I pay the ticket?
