We were waitlisted two years ago at both School for Friends and NCRC. Got into both over the summer. May and July, respectively.

PK4 at School for Friends? i know for sure some of the kids are leaving for DCPS, but since it isn't an ordered wait list, it would be really hard to tell.

So something like Amazing Life Games? It typically has kids who move to DCPS for PreK4 - they should know within a few weeks.

Yes. And School for Friends. Don’t families tell the schools right away?

OP - it would be helpful to know what waitlists you on are. Your chances vary greatly by school.

When you say "Private PreK" are you thinking a program that is just PreS / PreK or something else?

Give some examples and people can help.

We bombed the DC pre-k lottery (not surprised) and have also not gotten into our preferred private preschool programs. We are on the waitlist at both - one said chances are good, the other is not giving any detail. How likely is it that these waitlists will see some movement between now and September? Does anyone have any experience with this? I figure with the lottery results out people would have already communicated to their schools if their kids won’t be returning for the fall and the schools would know if there would be movement on their waitlists. This is so stressful.
