Anyone been to the Philippine Oriental Market counter in Arlington? Any reviews? Do they serve food the whole time or only at certain times?

Not in the district, but Lumpia Pansit in Wheaton is very good in my opinion. I’m not Filipino, but I’ve been eating home cooked food by Filipino friends and students for a couple decades.

Kamayan is the Tagalog word. Because the owners are from Cebu, it's called Kinamot in Bisaya. The lechon belly is amazing. We have it for all of our big family occasions. His sister does delicious desserts and they catered half of the dessert portion of our wedding.

The Kinamot is only offered on certain Tuesday nights. Check their FB page or website for the schedule. The rest of the time it is a fast casual restaurant. I am Filipino and I like to eat there, but I think of it as restaurant food. It’s rich. It’s delicious. If you don’t like fat, definitely don’t eat there.

Supposedly there's a new Filipino restaurant in Herndon, for people in that area. EGG KARNE. It was started by the parents of a child in my daughter's class.

Anywhere to get filipino food in the district (not bad saint)?

I went several weeks back... Didn't like it all. Lumpias meh, longaniza too sweet... pork belly too chewy in texture, you literally have to pull it with your teeth. I guess the egg, rice and wings were O.K.

Just went in there today, after a trip to the UPS Store next door. OH MAN it is good. Highly recommend it.

I just had lunch there! I have not been to the Kinamot but the regular menu is pretty good. The restaurant is really small and seating usually seems to be a challenge but you have to reserve a spot for that dinner so seating wouldn’t be an issue.

They seem to have some type of feast that looks very interesting and not the typical sit by yourself in the corner kind of restaurant. It looks like a Luau.
Kinamot. That sounds interesting. I'm not advertising. I seriously thing this looks interesting and thinking of going but have to be careful with gluten free-which probably means i can't go .
