What? No. Not at all. Actually, our monoculture lawns are far less resilient and more delicate..both to traffic and to overall hardiness.

People should really read up on the damage their monoculture lawns are doing. It's not judgment. It's just reality.

You know, thinking on it, that does seem to be the case because the bees are able to be out there on the lawn if needed most of the summer. But I am not the person to ask.

I do not care about my lawn, never have. I mow it, I keep it decently maintained, and we do have some beautiful landscaping.. But I don't water grass in the summer, I don't use herbicides. I just think it's a waste of resources. I will take care of my garden, flowers and plants but not the grass..

In that regard, the clover has been relatively low maintenance

We have a mostly clover lawn now. It is GREAT for our bees. We keep bees but they have never been a nuisance and we at outside all the time.

We did a slow changeover from traditional to clover. I think it looks pretty much the same when it is short.

We have clover, dandelions, garlic mustard, broom grass, Bermuda, and at least a hundred other undesirables. Also, ticks, mosquitoes, bees, and many other insects. Not planning to change anytime soon.

Wow, I didn't know this was a thing. My yard is grass and clover. I always thought the clover was weeds, but was too busy fighting poison ivy and other weeds in my flower beds to try to tackle the clover amidst the grass.

I can't tell you how thrilled I am to know that something in my yard is NOT a problem. Hooray for me doing something right, even by accident!

I sprinkled clover seeds and they took easily, and I love it (more lush). I did not get rid of the grass first though and I do not like the grass. Not sure how to be rid of the grass like I would prefer.

I got clover seed online and put it in my lawn. Violets too. Looks nice in spring and when kept reasonably mowed. Not exactly manicured but not noticeably different from anyone else’s lawn.

Of course, I can find photos of clover lawns on the internet, but they seem to be a bit too beautiful and perfect to be believable. It would be helpful to have a "real" photo.

If anybody has attempted to grow a 100% clover lawn -- or a lawn that involves a mixture of clover and grass -- I would be interested to hear about your experience.

Are you happy with the lawn's appearance and its ability to withstand hot, dry summers?

What type of clover seed did you use? And if you used grass seed as well, what type of grass?

How does a clover lawn look in winter? Is it reduced to something close to bare dirt? Or does some vegetation remain?
