+1

I regret it when I don't trust Waze.

Yes I don't want to ride in the exit lane to save 45 seconds. Is this in the settings? Because I'd be into that.

They do need a setting for this it takes you on a small road and then doesnt account for lights or stop signs. If its only going to save me 2 minutes dont change routes!

About 2 years ago, I had a great Lyft driver ... I needed to get to union station to catch a train and miscalculated the pickup time so was clearly late. The driver was determined to get me there but I was following along with waze and knew we were going to arrive 5 min after the train departed. Once we got into DC, the driver kindly asked if I cared if he ignored waze and went his own way. He got me there with time to spare.

At the time I didn’t understand, because outside of dc I used waze religiously and it almost never fails me. Since then, I am hearing more of what I am reading in this thread.

Waze is great in the city so long as you ignore any suggested route changes that save less than 10 minutes.

I am not a fan of Waze. It's always trying to get me to make some impossible left turn or something equally frustrating to save like 5 minutes. I have switched to Google.

You are obviously an idiot from the exurbs.

Im in Southern California. It's almost always the case that when I ignore what Waze is telling me to do, I regret it.

DH drives from OC to LA for work - he has tested both Google Maps and Waze (he used to be a GM user only), and has now migrated to Waze only.

Or you can just drive yourself... lyft doesn’t give a crash course about DC streets when you get hired

The system doesn't contain an incentive for them to learn it.

Good. I hate that Waze is outing all my bailouts and backdoors. I say let them figure out for themselves that no, Water Street will not get you to the Key Br. ; )

Yes, I agree. It used to be better but it has been really bad for about 3 months. I only use google maps now.

I take Uber/Lyft a lot. At least half the time the Uber drivers are using Waze. I know these streets and Waze is sending these drivers in incredibly idiotic ways. It’s extremely frustrating and makes me want to go back to cabs.
