Ok. Yes. My child is not really wanting to leave Candlewood. I can see how that might happen, kids wanting to return to their home school.
Especially tough with the disruption of covid and then returning back to in person. It's another change in a few years time. Thank you for sharing your experience.

My daughter was very happy at Mill Creek CES. She was already at Mill creek, and it was nice to have more projects and a higher achieving peer group. A few kids did leave CES usually because they missed friends at Candlewood.

My daughter is in the Mill Creek CES now, and my son was accepted for next year. There is far more reading and writing in the program than at our home school, but not nearly as much as our older daughter had at a Clearspring CES. Personally, I think the pace at Mill Creek is more in line with what students should be expected to manage at this level - less burnout - though it may step up as the teachers get more familiar with the CES curriculum and the students’ interests and abilities. The peer group has made all the difference with our daughter...now to see what our son thinks. Good luck with your decision.

I'm looking for feedback from parents of CES students at Mill Creek Towne ES. Have you (and your child) been happy with the program? Any insight on male/female ratios (I've anecdotally heard that there are more females in the program)? My son was accepted and he's very strong math/science and he's a good reader (a year ahead of grade level), and has good reading comprehension. His concern is that he thinks he reads too slow. He can write, but it is definitely not his favorite subject. Anyone else in a similar situation? If so, how has your child made out? Thanks so much for any feedback that you have!
