Nike could give 2000 ECNL girls one pair of cleats, and they would have brand loyalty from those kids and families for life. If each pair retails for $300, then making them costs $50 or less. So, for $100k, Nike could outfit every ECNL girl, and they'd still have to buy "discounted" balls, jerseys, etc.

How much do they pay Kaepernick instead?

That is for competitive club teens. The littles are not as tough on the shoes.

You complain about the travel too, right?

Not at all I’m just not expecting some major event from this partnership. I’d be happy for them to put DD in an ad or something, or give her a college scholarship. What do you think this means? I think it means they’ll supply kits and equipment at a discount.

I dunno, I think this could be the perfect sponsorship for ECNL soccer

That was bound to happen. Their cleats rip and tear within one season. You are lucky if you get two seasons out if then. All the parents discuss it.

What is the point of this topic? Sponsors provide either money or discounts to leagues and/or clubs. Those entities then use that money to fund their operations or use the discounts to pass down to their teams, coaches, and players. In return, the sponsor gets advertising and product movement. Not hard to figure out. Not a lot of money here for the leagues and clubs that run on shoestring budgets to begin with, but it helps ... hence why you see a lot of sponsors typically.

Yeah, who cares about the largest US sports apparel company. One that just signed a 13 year old girl soccer player to a six figure endorsement deal. One that Alex Morgan, Pulisic, Neymar, Mbappé, etc have also signed current endorsement deals. One that currently sponsors such clubs as Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Man City, Chelsea, Tootenham, etc.

NIKE is a joke, especially in soccer. More ASICS please.

Nike renewed its sponsorship of girls' ECNL. How much did Nike pay and for how long? Where does the money go, exactly? Anyone know?
