I work with preschoolers, every day there is a wedding. They are also pirates, mermaids, cats, dogs, dinosaurs, etc. Weddings are part of playing house and pretending to be families. Sometimes they have babies too!

My DS was engaged at 4. He is still engaged to the same girl. The adults enjoy planning the rehersal dinner slide show while drinking beers together. It’s fine.

At four, all the preschool kids were going to marry one another -- boys and girls, boys and boys, girls and girls. It just means they like each other and wanted to pretend to have a party. They don't know what marrying means and what a wedding is. Chill out.

My 4 year old told me she was going to marry a specific boy in her class. I asked why, since last week she said they weren't friends. She said that he wanted her to and asked if she could buy new shoes for the wedding. 4 year olds are gonna 4 year old. This is not something to stress about.
